Former president, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo and the publisher of his latest book, “My Watch”, Kachifo may have envisaged security agents playing a fast one on them as they have adopted a new way of getting the book to members of the public.
LEADERSHIP investigation in Lagos yesterday revealed that rather than distribute the book through bookshops, they have chosen to sell directly at bus stops across the state to interested members of the public.
It was also gathered that the address given to members of the public as to where the book could be bought during the launching on Tuesday does not exist.
The publisher, Kachifo publisher gave 234 Herbert Macaulay street, Yaba as its official address but LEADERSHIP checks yesterday revealed that there was no such number on the street.
When our correspondent called a given number at the back of the book, the person that picked the call directed our reporter to a prominent bus stop in Lagos where he said the book could be bought.
On getting to the bus stop, the person who gave his designation as the company logistic manager directed our reporter to another building close to the bus stop.
It was at the building that our reporter was able to purchase copies of the book.
Asked why the elaborate security around the book, the man said that it was due to the fact that security agents may be after them.
