Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha says it has been prophesied that he will be President of Nigeria, and as such, he will be his contesting 2015’s presidential election.
Okorocha made the proclamation at the All Progressives Congress rally attended by prominent members of the party in the South-East on Monday, 10 November, in Enugu.
He emphatically declared, “In 2015 I will be the president of the country”, adding that his emergence as the country’s president after the 2015 presidential polls would leave many people shocked, especially the Peoples Democratic Party.
Okorocha also stated that the APC presidential ticket was never zoned to the North, and that when the party’s presidential aspirants were being counted, his name would come first on the list.
“When they said they have zoned the presidency to the North, I asked, “When was the meeting held? Now we have zoned it to Igboland. In 2015, there will be a turnaround in the fortunes of Ndigbo.”He said, “Three months ago when I said I want to be president they asked, “Can an Igboman be president? But now when they count those contesting for president they will first count Rochas Okorocha, before Buhari, Atiku Abubakar and Kwankwaso.”
Speaking in Igbo, the governor alleged that his people (Igbos) had been neglected by President Goodluck Jonathan, and that no Igbo man is currently occupying any prominent position in the country.
He would also accuse prominent Igbo PDP politicians of not being concerned about the well being of their ‘people’. “They only know themselves; they don’t care about Igbo. APC is an emergency party for a new Nigeria; I would not have joined APC if PDP was doing well. We will defeat PDP in 2015,” he declared.
Speaking further, Okorocha boasted that he had the resources to realise his ambition of becoming president, adding that he was richer than his opponents in the PDP.
