GOV IDRIS WADA OF KOGI STATE REPORTED TO HAVE SLIPPED INTO COMA AFTER YESTERDAY'S CAR CRASH ... Sunnewsonline.

Tragedy struck Kogi State yesterday as the convoy of Governor Wada Idris was involved in a fatal auto crash. In the accident, Governor Wada was critically wounded and went into coma, while his Aide de Camp (ADC), Mohammed Idris, died on the spot.
According to an eyewitness account, the governor was returning from the annual Igala education summit, in Ayingba, when the front tyre of his vehicle burst and pulled off at Emi Woro village, between Prime Polytechnic and Salem University, about 12 kilometres to Lokoja, the state capital.
The vehicle somersaulted severally. Rescue operation started immediately and the injured governor was moved by an ambulance to the state’s specialist hospital in Lokoja, where medical personnel battled to save his life. Thereafter, he was transferred to an Abuja hospital in a helicopter, where plan was being finalised to fky him abroad last night. Sources said Wada sustained serious head injuries, which caused him going into coma. Also, he sustained leg injuries in the crash.
His thigh was said to have pulled off. Immediately news of the accident hit town, top government functionaries and sympathisers trooped to the Kogi Specialist Hospital, where the governor was first taken. Security personnel had however, cordoned off the hospital, to prevent access to him. Confirming the incident, in a press statement, the state Commissioner of Information, Yabaji Bologi, said the governor was in stable condition. He confirmed that the governor had gone to declare open the annual Igala education summit at the state’s university in Ayingba.
The governor’s accident is coming barely two weeks after former governor of Kaduna State, Chief Patrick Yakowa; ex-National Security Adviser, General Andrew Azazi and four others lost their lives in a helicopter crash at Nembe, Bayelsa State.
