DailyPost learnt that the incident happened at about 5 am when some heavily armed men, about eighteen in number invaded the village, shooting sporadically.
Mr. Nyikyagh Abahia, market master of Northbank commercial market who was shot two times at the back, survived the attack.
He disclosed that no house was burnt but the attackers came to the village and opened fire on residents of the community upon which two stray bullets hit him at the back and on his leg.
It was gathered that the attacked market master had quickly informed the member representing Makurdi North in the state Assembly, Mr. Avine Agbum, who had instantly briefed the commander at the 72 battalion, Northbank.
Men of the military were reportedly deployed to the area to calm the situation.
The police public relations officer,PPRO, DSP Daniel Ezeala, could not be reached for confirmation even as numerous calls to his mobile phone were not answered.
