MONEY MATTER BETWEEN MEN IN THE HOUSE OF GOD? Christ Embassy Choir Director To Face N.7m Charges

A choir director of Christ Embassy Church in Lagos, Sunday Eboh, will face charges in court for allegedly defrauding another member, David Egaifa, in the sum of N710,000 meant for the purchase of a Toyota bus.
At the Ogudu Magistrates’ Court in Lagos on Friday, Eboh’s hope of settling the matter out of court suffered a setback when the complainant withdrew his earlier application for the withdrawal of the matter. He claimed he was not properly enlightened on the implications of withdrawing the case from court.
After getting to know that he would not be able to bring back the case when withdrawn, he cancelled the application. This forced Chief Magistrate Omolade Awope to strike out the application.
The prosecutor, Adekemi Adeniran, explained to the court that, “the accused told the complainant that his relatives are living in United Kingdom and that they frequently sent cars home for sale.
“The complainant was not totally convinced, so he asked the accused to deposit his B.Sc certificate and his NYSC discharge certificate, to be turned to him when he brings the bus. After collecting the money, the accused ran away until last week when he turned up to demand for the certificates.”
Eboh was first arraigned on May 15, but was granted bail in the sum of N200,000 with two sureties in like sum. He allegedly committed the offence in February 2012 at about 12:30pm, at the Christ Embassy Church, Ketu, Lagos.
