A Forum of Bishops and Eminent Clergy of Nigeria has called on Jigawa State governor, Sule Lamido to sacrifice his time and talent to join hands with the forum in its struggling to ensure the country’s peace and unity are not compromised by selfish interest of parochial minded politicians.
The forum described governor Lamido as an asset, a patriotic and prudent leader who has a vital role to play in achieving the desired goals and in view of that, they are soliciting the support of the governor on the “Nigerian Project”.
The chairman of the forum His Imminence Prophet Joene Erue, made the appeal during a cutesy call on the governor in his office at Dutse Government House yesterday.
Mr Erue explained that, the kind of impunity, undemocratic use of power and intolerance among Nigerian leaders was alarming and also posed a threat to the existence of the country, “these problems are what informed the establishment of this Forum which comprises over 500 clergies”
“According to him, they visited governor Lamido as part of their wider consultation on “Nigerian Project” initiated by the Forum, aims at drawing the attention of all Nigerians irrespective of their tribes, regions or religious affiliation on the indispensable need to join hands in preserving the unity, integrity, peace and progress of the country”.
The clergy Erue also commended governor SuleLamido on the laudable projects he executed in Jigawa which he said transformed the lives of the people of the state “the number of the projects executed by governor Lamido’s administration is a clear evidence of the Lamido’s prudent, accountability, justice and fairness worthy of emulation by other leaders”.
