The children of former governor of old Kaduna State, late Group Captain Usman Jibrin, have described as mischievous, an advertorial in some national dailies and aired on television stations quoting their late father as calling retired General Muhammadu Buhari a corrupt person.
A statement signed by Alhaji Imran Jibrin, the Dan Makwoyon Nasarawa on behalf of the family said the advertorial was not only false and misleading but unfair to their father.
“Our late father lived a simple, non-partisan and scandal-free life. He was a statesman and a nationalist. He was a father to all who maintained a cordial relationship with General Buhari from when they were young officers until his death a few years ago. “We serve this disclaimer as a notice to all desperate politicians to desist from and stop dragging the name of our esteemed father into their unwholesome politics of desperation. If these lies continue, we will be left with no option but to instruct our lawyers to institute legal action against any medium using our father’s name to promote their devilish agenda,” the statement said.
