Sanusi Lamido Sanusi was nominated alongside the eldest son of the late monarch, Alhaji Sanusi Ado Bayero and the Wamban Kano, Alhaji Abbas Sanusi.
Sanusi Lamido Sanusi was a Banker and grandson of Emir Muhammadu Sanusi. After holding several positions in the Banking sector was appointed the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).
Sanusi’s father, Alhaji Aminu Sanusi, never ascended the throne-he died as the Ciroman Kano.
Sanusi was appointed Dan Majen Kano by the late Emir Ado Bayero in 2012. Sanusi was rumored to be the favorite candidate of the Kano State government for the post.
