FOLLOWING protest by the Presidency, the name of President Goodluck Jonathan has been removed from the list of 10 richest African leaders published by a website, Richestlifestyle.com.
The website had listed President Jonathon as the sixth richest African leader with net worth estimated at $100 million.
President Jonathan had frowned on the publication, which was reproduced by some Nigerian websites, saying that it was aimed at inciting the public against him.
The presidential media adviser, Dr Reuben Abati, in a statement on Wednesday, demanded a retraction of the offensive publication, threatening legal action.
A visit to the website showed that Jonathan’s name had been removed, leaving nine African leaders on the list.
Under the sixth richest African leader, what is there now is: “This article has been removed.”
