THE ARROGANCE OF POWER : Jonathan’ll Hand Over Power In 2019 ... Bamanga Tukur (LeadershipNews)

The national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Bamanga Tukur yesterday tactically endorsed President Goodluck Jonathan for 2015 as he projected that a young man would take over from him by 2019.
Tukur who said this while receiving members of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Anambra State branch at  his Abuja residence, added that he had dreamt that a much younger member of the PDP would take over government after President Goodluck Jonathan in 2019.
He noted that the era of gerontocracy in Nigeria is over as President Jonathan has laid the foundation for the Nigerian youths to spearhead the political and economic engineering of Nigeria.
He further explained that the emergence of their candidate for the Anambra State governorship election, Tony Nwoye, is in line with the party’s support for the youths.
The PDP national chairman said Nwoye had defined himself as a candidate who was not desperate for the governorship seat adding that Nwoye had garnered a   wealth of experience through the management of youth affairs over the years.
On his part, the spokesman for the Anambra State students, Mr Danielson Tony expressed misgivings on the crises within the PDP and commended the chairman for the wisdom, understanding and maturity he had so far exercised in managing the crises.
He lamented that the uncertainty within the ruling party has been impacting negatively on its preparations for the Anambra State governorship election scheduled for November 16.
He also expressed regrets on the use of the courts by members of the party in Anambra State to throw a spanner on the wheels of the party in its preparations for the governorship election.
