Justice Adamu Bello of the Federal High Court, Abuja, on Monday, granted bail to convicted former pension boss in the Police Affairs Ministry, John Yusufu, in the sum of N10 million.
Yusufu was brought before the court again by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, after a controversial court ruling regarded as too mild for the type of offence he was found guilty of.
Part of his bail conditions include Yusufu providing a surety in like sum who must not only be a resident of the FCT, but must also have a landed property in the capital city with proof of ownership.
The surety, according to the judge, must not be below the post of a Director in the Federal Civil Service.
Justice Bello further stressed that Yusufu must not travel out of Nigeria without permission while his passport was seized by the court.
