A middle-aged man identified as Gowon (surname withheld) has died after allegedly eating a woman’s underwear in soup.
Gowon, a peasant farmer from Mba-Apakaa community of Mbagbera in Vandeikya local government area of Benue State, was accused of committing adultery with his elder brother’s wife who is a local blacksmith.
LEADERSHIP WEEKEND gathered that Gowon’s elder brother’s wife, identified as Vero and who he was secretly going out with, was fond of visiting the randy farmer at nights and that she would always prepare a delicious meal for him during each visit.
According to sources, Vero would use money offered by her old-aged husband to establish business to buy farming land and dresses for her alleged sexual partner.
However, the abominable act was made open when one of the husband’s friends informed him of his wife’s promiscuity and had revealed to him that she (Vero) was always taking food to Gowon in his house.
It was gathered that the angry blacksmith targeted his wife and had on that fateful evening, after his wife had cooked pounded yam with egusi (melon) soup, went to the kitchen and removed the smoked fish from the soup and replaced it with black underwear which he carefully folded as fish.
During Vero’s visit and realising that she prepared a sumptuous meal for her lover, she urged him (Gowon) during the meal to quickly eat the fish from the soup but unfortunately, it was found that it was replaced with her underwear.
