WATCHING THE SSS SPOKESWOMAN GIVING A LAME EXCUSE FOR THE EMBARASSMENT CAUSED NIGERIA AND NIGERIANS HERE BROKE MY HEART : STILL ON THOSE MURDERED APO HOMELESS YOUTHS ... By Hassan Mohammed from Facebook

STILL ON THOSE MURDERED APO HOMELESS YOUTHS

Last year, February 9th, 2012, I made a post about our security agents in which I said:

*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*...
In the United States, Mexico, Brazil, China, Western Europe, Asia and Middle-East etc., a man or woman that is CIA, M15 or MOSSAD etc., may be married for 20 to 30 years, yet the wife or husband will not know. The man or woman will be incognito. He/she may be present himself/herself as a professor, banker, lawyer, cobbler, driver, mechanic etc., and will remain so for as many years as possible to keep his or her country men and women safe from internal and external attacks. They are that professional. The family, friends and neighbours may only know his or her true calling if he dies in the line of duty. But as soon as you meet our own State Security Agents, you will just know. Yes, you will. And it is not just from the air of pomposity. They will tell you. Whether it is in a stadium, bank, school, church/mosque, market, club/bar or filling station, if you have any issue with an agent, s/he will just say to you, "DO YOU KNOW ME? I'M SSS, I'LL DEAL WITH YOU. If you have a private dispute with a friend of relation of the agent or someone with money or influence, all they need to do is to call on one and the agent will organize his or her friends to come shake you."
*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*

It was that bad yesterday, and is still bad or even worst today. The rich and connected still rent our security agents to hunt down and deal with their rivals or those they are n dispute with. Sad fact is, Nigerians are so used to the rich and powerful using our Police, Military and Secret Service to harass, jail, maim and or even kill their poor, that they now take it as a norm. Some even try to justify the act, especially if the victims are not their "own people". We have seen that happen all the time. In our country, we have seen people with connections invite security operatives to "deal" with those they have personal issues with. In fact, we witnessed situations where people threaten others that they will use their connections in our security forces, and go ahead to institute the threat by getting the not-connected beaten and sometimes killed.

It is also no longer news or in question that in Apo, Abuja, Nigeria, our security officials walked into a building and murdered 7 Nigerians, who because of what fate and bad leadership handed them, are homeless and squatting illegally in a private uncompleted building. It is also not news that instead of admitting that something went wrong or that the security personnel acted in an unprofessional and even illegal way by going 'gunho' into a building and spraying young men with bullets, the SSS quickly came up with a defence for the 'guns for hire' agents that the murdered young men were Boko Haram members. How do you shoot people, kill some, then leave the rest of them half dead, only to rush back to national TV with a lame statement that they are members of BH? This leaves some of us wondering if some of those killed and declared BH are really BH?

And before I forget, that uncompleted building that housed the so-called BH members must be given the Obi treatment. It be must completely destroyed and the land confiscated by government. For those who justify the killings for no reason other than because of the ethnicity of the victims, it important they are reminded of a Hausa saying that, "if your brother's beard is on fire, quickly rush water on your own". Put differently, if you support injustice against others or keep mute, it may affect you or your kind some day. Then, you will not have the moral right to protest.

I salute George Onmonya Daniel, Jelkyes Dafwat and Soni Akoji and many others who refused to buy into the fake story that these young people are terrorists, and made some of us aware of the situation and kept it on our lips and in our minds. It is "noise" that these young Nigerians and others like them that drew that SSS spokesperson to come out and shamelessly look Nigerians in the eye and lie to them. Thank you George, Dafwat and Akoji.
