A 10-year-old boy was arrested by Rivers police for witchcraft activities alongside an accomplice, a 48-year old man, in Iwofe, Rumuolumeni in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of the state on Monday, 28 July.
The boy was arrested after reportedly turning into a cat to attack a family in the community.
The reports say that the 10-year-old boy turned into a cat and jumped into the apartment of one of the residents, who believing it to be an ordinary cat, attempted to chase it out, when he suddenly transformed back into the boy.
The strange transformation frightened the occupants of the apartment, who immediately screamed to attract their neighbours who rushed to the scene.
However, it was reported that the boy pleaded with his captors to spare his life while naming the 48-year-old man as his accomplice and sponsor of his nocturnal activities.
Meanwhile, a senior police officer in Rivers confirmed the incident on the condition of anonymity, saying, “Actually, two people have been arrested in connection to witchcraft activity.”
