The national coordinator of Goodluck
Support Group (GSG), Alhaji Ahmed Gulak, who was on Tuesday sacked as
political adviser to President Goodluck Jonathan on political matters,
has resigned his position.
The group coordinated all campaign efforts that saw to the emergence
of Jonathan as president in 2011 and is already doing same, awaiting
official declaration by the president to seek second term in office.
Gulak, who was sacked with immediate effect as the president’s
political adviser via a statement issued by the Special Adviser on Media
and Publicity to the President, Reuben Abati, with no reason, tendered
his resignation as national coordinator of the group on Friday.
Saturday Tribune got a copy of his resignation letter dated May 2,
2014 and which he addressed to the deputy national coordinator of the
group, Eddy Olafeso.
It was entitled, “Resignation/Disengagement from Goodluck Support Group.”
Gulak did not state the reason for his resignation, but told his
deputy to remain steadfast and focused in the mobilisation of all for
the need to keep supporting the president in what he described as his
sincere and committed effort to take the country to an enviable level of
development.
