The immediate younger sister of former Governor of Ekiti State, Ayo Fayose, Bimpe Sorinolu is dead.
She died of cancer at St. Joseph Hospice, Mare Street, Hackney, London.
She has been battling breast cancer and cancer of the lungs for about
two years now, but lost the battle today in a London hospital.
She was once a socialite, but later decided to become a ‘born-again’ Christian and tagged herself, an Apostle for Christ.
On her sick bed, she sang, played with her children and shared sermons with her fellowship members.
In March 2012, she returned to Nigeria from the United Kingdom to
throw a thanksgiving party to celebrate her improved health. Then, she
said she had come home briefly for friends and family members to see
that she was well and alive after doctors gave her six months to live,
following the discovery of cancer in her body in June 2011.
She is survived by her three kids.
Bimpe was the founder of Night and Day, a popular boutique on Allen Avenue/Opebi.
