DECENT AND DESERVED APPOINTMENT : Ex-Nigerian First Lady Appointed Acting Chief Judge Of Niger State

Governor Muazu Aliyu of Middle Belt Nigeria's Niger State has approved the appointment of former first lady and wife to Abdulsalami Abubakar, Justice Fati Lami Abubakar as the acting Chief Judge of the state.
Her Appointment Followed the Retirement of the State’s Chief Judge, Justice Jibrin Ndatsu Ndajiwo Who Has Proceeded on Retirement Having Attained the Mandatory Retirement Age of 65 Years.

According to a statement from the Chief Press Secretary to the state governor, Danladi Ndayebo, Justice Fati’s Appointment Was In Conformity With Section 271 (4) Of The 1999 Constitution; The statement said, “Acting Upon The Powers Conferred On Me By The 1999 Constitution Of The Federal Republic Of Nigeria, As Amended, Which Gives The Powers To Appoint A Chief Judge Of A State, I, Dr Muazu Aliyu Hereby Appoint Justice Fati Lami Abubakar As Acting Chief Judge With Effect From March 30,2013”.

The Statement Noted That With The Former First Lady's Impressive Credentials As The Most Senior High Court Judge, A Former Solicitor General Of The State And A Judicial Officer Of Impeccable Character, Governor Aliyu Is Confident That The Newly Appointed Acting Chief Judge Will Discharge The Duties Of Her New Office Diligently Without Fear Or Favor.

He Also Wished Her God’s Guidance, More Wisdom and the Courage to Handle the Duties of Her New Office Successfully.
