One of such provocations was the beheading of a soldier in Baga by Boko Haram terrorists who took cover in Baga after that dastardly act..At another time soldiers were ambushed by the insurgents and one soldier was killed and these Boko Haram terrorists were shielded by the members of the community..
Boko Haram members alwayz come to Baga to tax them and no formal complaint have been brought to us by the community,even as the residents of the community continue to shield the sect members.
The millitary had intelligence report of weekend attacks on soldiers and when the people of the town were approached for assistance it never came.
The terrorists had been taxing the community for so long and we have had informations that they were prepered to attack us which we confronted the people with and they denied.
The millitary were no time unprofessional in its task in the area of protecting lives and property in the North-East sub region of the country..
Item recovered from Boko Haram members..3 rocket propelled grenade launchers.2 rocket propelled grenade bombs..4 kalashinkov rifles..436 ammunitions..Several quantities of IED materials and three damaged land cruiser vehicles belonging to the terrorists..
Breakdown of the casualties:- 30 members of Boko Haram dead..6 civilians caught up in the cross-fire and one soldier..
The conflagration of the weekend was never the making of the millitary but was due to the weapon deployed around by Boko Haram members that touched 30 thatched houses in the predominantly fishing community of Baga town..''
