Aproko247 has just got a report from Owerri, the Imo State capital, that the governor of the state, Rochas Okorocha, has been flown to the United Kingdom for treatment after his convoy was involved in a ghastly accident in Owerri on Friday afternoon.
A source in Owerri reliably informed us that the governor was returning from a function when he was involved in the road crash.
We are still gathering more information on the incident. We were also told by our source that the governor may have sustained a head injury, though, this was yet to be confirmed as at press time.
A government official in Owerri declined to speak to us on the matter as at the time we called to confirm this story. The official begged us not to disclose his identity in our report.
Okorocha was in Lagos on Thursday for the ACN’s convention held at the Onikan Stadium.
