STOP PRESS! STOP PRESS!! STOP PRESS!!! : Why we are taking over PDP from Jonathan, Tukur – New Factional Chairman, Abubakar Baraje... FULL TEXT OF STATEMENT ISSUED BY THE NEW FACTIONAL CHAIRMAN OF PDP, ABUBAKAR KAWU BARAJE
Below is the full text of a speech by the new factional chairman of the Peoples Democratic, Abubakar Kawu Baraje, at a press conference in Abuja where a new faction of the ruling party was unveiled.
We address you today as leaders of PDP, who are worried by the increasing repression, restrictions of freedom of association, arbitrary suspension of members and other such violations of democratic principles by a faction of our party led by Alhaji Bamanga Tukur .
While we have done everything humanly possible to bring to the attention of critical stakeholders within the party the dangers inherent in the course being charted by that leadership, it has become very clear that the desperate permutations towards 2015 general elections have blinded certain people from the consequences of their actions.
Not only has the constitution of the party been serially abused by Alhaji Tukur and his fellow travelers, all the organs of the party have been rendered virtually ineffectual by a few people who act as though above the law. Unfortunately, it is obvious that that they get encouragement from the presidency whose old calculations are geared towards shutting out any real or imagined opposition ahead of the party’s presidential primaries for the 2015 elections.
As leaders of our great party, we consider it a sacred responsibility to save the PDP from the antics of a few desperadoes who have no democratic temperament and are therefore bent on hijacking the party for selfish ends. While the list of their violations of the tenets of our great party is long, we will highlight just a few:
The National Executive Committee of the PDP at its belated meeting of 20June 2013 approved 20 July2013 for the conduct of a special national convention.
However, that date was changed to August 31 without reverting to NEC ( the only authority vested with such powers) by a few people, apparently acting on the authority of the presidency.
Notwithstanding the fact that INEC had noted that the PDP congresses in nine states were not properly conducted, the illegal delegates from such states are being paraded at the so-called convention being held today in a cynical attempt to circumvent the law and further bring the name of the party to disrepute.
In gross violation of the PDP constitution which stipulates that the NEC meeting must hold at least once in a quarter, Alhaji Bamanga Tukur and a few people have been running the party like a personal fiefdom without recourse to that important decision-making organ of the party.
The NEC of the party accepted the resignation of the former members of the NWC whose offices were affected by INEC observations based principally on the agreement that the affected officers would be returned to their respective offices at the convention. However, against the decision of the NEC. And in a not-so-clever bid to exclude some perceived opponents of the few powerful members who are trying to hijack the party, these positions have been made Open to some Yes-men within the party.
Notwithstanding INEC instance that Senator Any Uba is the duly elected candidate of the party in Anambra State and against the background that he is so recognized by majority of our party members, the Bamanga Tukur-led Executives announced a purported suspension of Senator Uba and some other members close to him in defiance of subsisting court orders.
Despite that the PDP Constitution is very clear that the state chapter of the party cannot discipline a national officer, the Deputy National Chairman, Mr. Sam Jaja, has reportedly been dismissed by some renegades who have hijacked the Rivers State chapter of our party with the connivance of the Bamanga Tukur leadership.
The persistent change in the list of the party’s delegates in many states as part of a deliberate attempt to rig the party’s nomination of candidates, especially at the presidential and gubernatorial levels, with a view to foisting on the PDP some unpopular candidates who are bound to lose at the polls.
The suspension without due process of the Governors of Rivers and Sokoto states. Even when the illegal suspension on Sokoto State Governor has been lifted, the Rivers Governor remains purportedly suspended for no just cause.
The illegal dissolution of the Adamawa State chapter of the party is a clear abuse of power by Alhaji Bamanga Tukur thus causing confusion in his home state.
Given the foregoing, it is very clear that the Bamanga Tukur leadership cannot guarantee for our millions of party members democracy anchored on free choice and the rule of law. We have therefore taken it upon ourselves to rescue the party from their int and dictatorial leadership.
It is indeed noteworthy that from 1999 to date, Nigerians have constantly voted the presidential candidates presented by our great party but not only dies such trust come wig enormous responsibility, we recognize that wee cannot continue to take the people f granted.
From now, the new leadership of the party under us will strive to build a fairer as well as a more transparent and accountable PDP that will putty interest of members and indeed all the people of Nigeria above that of one single individual.
For all the members of our great party who may have become disillusioned by the anti-democratic tendencies of the Bamanga Tukur’s leadership, there is a new lease of life in the horizon. It’s a new day for the Peoples Democratic Party.
As we take over the leadership of the PDP, our immediate priority is to revive the culture of robust debate of all contending issues while providing a level-playing field for all our members. These were the ideals that differentiated our party from others and endeared us to Nigerians.
We are not, and have never been a political party where one man would be taking decisions for all members and where once you do not kowtow before the presidency, you are deemed a rebel that must be crushed. That is no the PDP bequeathed to us by our founding fathers. That, I dare say, is no longer what PDP under our leadership will represent from today.

CASTING SPELLS FOR 2015 : Breaking News: Amidst Reports That They've Formed Their Own Party, 8 States Walk Out Off PDP Congres
Breaking News: Amidst Reports That They've Formed Their Own Party, 8 States Walk Out Off PDP Convention
In a move that vindicates recent stories that they were behind the registration of a new party, the Voice of the People (VOP) party, 8 state governors and their loyalists have walked out of the PDP convention.
It would be recalled that reports earlier in the week had linked five PDP governors to the new party which was designed to be their fall back plan in their moves to dislodge President Jonathan from the presidency.
Governors Sule Lamido (Jigawa), Rabiu Kwankwaso (Kano), Murtala Nyako (Adamawa), Babangida Aliyu (Niger), Aliyu Wamakko (Sokoto) and Chibuike Amaechi (Rivers), are said to be behind the move to break away from the PDP.
The above mentioned governors today staged a walk out of the ongoing PDP convention.
Kano, Jigawa Governors Were First To Leave; Kwara, Adamawa, Niger, Sokoto, Rivers Followed.
There have been recent desperate moves by some Northern 2nd term governors to gather momentum for a power shift to the North come 2015 when their 2nd terms would have expired. One of the governors, Babangida Aliyu, of Niger even alluded to a one term pact signed by President Jonathan, but when challenged by President Jonathan's Political Adviser, Ahmed Gulak, to produce the signed agreement, he demurred.
The Northern Governors have apparently found a willing tool in River State Governor, who many suspect was baited by a promise of the vice presidency.
WHAT GOES AROUND COMES AROUND : Police corporal kills ASP over girlfriend in Yobe
A police corporal Bitrus Andrew yesterday shot dead one Assistant Superintendent Olosuji Elegbede at a police compound in Gashua town in Yobe State over a quarrel caused by a girlfriend to both of them.
Weekly Trust gathered that the incident occurred at about 9:05am after all efforts by a divisional police officer to resolve the issue failed.
A witness said the police corporal, popularly called Kwaba was bitter that his superior officer snatched a girl he has been befriending for the past eight years.
He said the junior officer was not happy that the divisional police officer rather than tell the assistant superintendent to leave the lady for him, warned him that it is a disrespectful act to befriend his superior officer’s woman.
“The corporal picked up his rifle and shot the assistant superintendent five times on his chest and he dropped down and was taken to a hospital, where he was confirmed dead,” the witness said.
Another witness said Corporal Bitrus has been befriending the lady for over eight years, while the superior officer was just posted to the division.
“You know how ladies behave, the guy was a senior officer and had a car, so she forgot all the good time Bitrus had with her for over eight years and started going out with Olosuji,” he said
Reacting, Yobe State Police Commissioner, Sanusi Ahmed Rufa’i, confirmed the incident and said that the assistant superintendent was shot dead by the corporal while trying to settle a misunderstanding that ensued between the corporal and his wife.
He said that the killer corporal was arrested, while the corpse is at the Gashua General Hospital.

MORE SCANDALOUS AND DAMAGING REVELATIONS AS OUR PST BIODUN FATOYINBO AND HIS COZA DISCIPLES PREPARE THEIR ROBUST RESPONSES, LET US REMIND HIM TO ADD THIS : Pastor J Of God’s House, Abuja Accuses Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo of Adultery ... DailyStar
This article written – by a certain clergy who claims to be Pastor J of God’s house – is in response to the alleged scandal between Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo of COZA and Ese Walter, the supposed victim.
Enjoy…
For the leaders of this people cause them to err; and they that are led of them are destroyed.”
Isaiah 9:16 . Let them alone: they be leaders of the blind. And if the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch. Matt 15:14
I was going to be silent on this sad, pathetic but true (in many shades) allegation against Pastor B and his popular and trendy ministry. My silence was borne out of respect for the kingdom of God and things that pertain to God. But all this changed when I heard the horrific tales of people who had been through the mess of this blind man, and the fact that he had no moral motivation to deny or accept the allegation; all he showed on Sunday was a demented swagger and perverse talk.
My sole purpose in writing this piece is to open the eyes of the world and believers to the hypocrisy and nonsense behind the pulpit, and to plea that these wolves and blind men stop deflating the faith of people who Christ died for. I am a Pastor, a full time minister at that, and I shall not sit back while
the name of my God, the ministry, and the works of other shepherds is brought to disrepute by the activities, action and inaction of a few blind men behind the pulpit.
I am tired of the nonsense of religion crying out, “touch not my anointed”; does this mean we cannot rebuke ourselves when we err, this much Paul did to Peter when he erred in Galatians 2:11 “But when Peter was come to Antioch, I withstood him to the face, because he was to be blamed”. It is therefore pertinent that I rebuke the wolves in shepherd’s clothing’s. It is time to set the record straight, and please don’t sell me the bullocks of judge not, I haven’t said anyone is going to hell, but of course if they don’t change, they have only one path.
It is high time we told the truth, which is plain, simple and without coloration. The stories of Franca and Ese is not only true but they are just a few tales of the tantalizing sex escapades of this clergy. This has been a recurring decimal in the ministry of the clergyman. This wasn’t the first time these stories will come forth, for those old COZA members, for those who were there when he was in Ilorin, when the church moved to Pipeline Road, Ilorin, having left Kwara Hotel, they will remember there was a time when the Pastor was suspended from ministering by his Father in the Lord, Rev Oset of Canaan Ministries. Rev. Oset sent guest ministers to the church every Sunday after that, but still Pastor B in his deceit will still minister in the pretence of introducing the guest minister, while he exhorts for minutes. I therefore laugh in mockery when He says his wife loves him, the woman has no choice. His core circle of Pastor Wole (Ilorin Chapter, the only man who maybe clean), and Pastor Flo (COZA, Lagos) knows of this fact, little wonder Ese said Pastor Flo said he knows about their adventures in that hotel room in London.
This is not the story of a hater; I don’t want or envy anything he has. He cannot ever have what I have and carry; neither do I crave for what he has. I am sure no one in the city of Ilorin, where this man started is bemused by these stories, no one who finished from the University of Ilorin during the period of 2003-2008, and was not a blinded COZA member can be mightily shocked at these revelations. I have heard tales of many more victims, I even heard from a woman who knows five friends who were victims, I saw it online the other day of a guy who said he formally works for him and he knows up to 130 people, outrageous as it may sound that too is true. Rev Oset in true conscience cannot deny the knowledge of these negatives. But we are a nation of hypocrites and religious folks; we ask no questions of leaders, so they can hide under the canopy of religion, even when they are filthy. Anyone who asks is rebuked by those who say, the bible says pray. It is sad that those who say pray themselves have not prayed. But Pastor B is just a decimal in an ever mounting number of wolves in the Church of Christ.
It is a pity that we run sensational press and media outfit in this country, and that our press is blinded by religion. If this were to be ‘saner’ climes the press would by now be researching, there would by now be investigative journalism. The truth would be dogged up and resurrected to life. For this is not about a mistake that a Pastor made, it is about a filthy man’s way of life.
And then about, “teaching a new level of grace’; please be reminded that Grace is not a license to sin, rather it empowers us to live above sin. Romans 6:1-2 says, “What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?” In my years of being a Christian, studying God’s word, preaching the gospel, listening to sound teachers, I have not heard of a grace that gives permission to sin. Stop being deceived, grace is the new dispensation, according to Hebrew 8:6-12, and under grace we do not follow any written code, law or traditions. That is done away with. The tablet of Moses is over with. But we are not reckless sinners; we are under a new covenant based on better promises. God’s law is written in our minds and hearts. We live according to His dictates. The Holy Spirit and our conscience convicts and judges us respectively. This is the only way we live a holy life. God’s strength and empowerment is the grace to do according to that written by God in our hearts and minds.
I write this with a heavy heart, though I wish I never had to write this, but I pray this madness stops. I know many who have stopped going to church, many whose faith has been derailed by the act of madness of this man, and many blind men like him. If they are not going to heaven, let them stop taking men out of the straight and narrow. No one understands the pain in meeting a man, whose faith has been derailed by a man who was supposed to help establish him. For such a man, words can’t bring him back, the best we can do is to pray and hope. I indulge the clergy to be of a higher moral standard.
My candid advice to the church at this end time is that the church must grow in knowledge; it’s high time we stopped bamboozling you. You must stop making idols of men. You must stop making men such as I, substitute for the Holy Ghost. Honour us; revere us… but that is where it ends. Without the Call, the Oil, and the Holy Spirit; we are mere mortal. But know for sure that this too shall pass; only the truth of the Gospel of the Kingdom abides forever.
For Pastor B and his sense making COZA people, remember the word of Christ in Matthew 15:14. How many of you even live life bearing the fruit of righteousness. Stop being blind, the ditch is close by. Look into this case, ask your pastor questions, seek genuine answers and not emotional rhetorics, hold him responsible, and do not forget the word of God, “then shall they know if they follow to know…” I am sure evidence abound. Seek to know from some key PCU members (who may need to be deposited in Gods ICU). Its time you hear not only about grace, but HOLINESS without which no one will see the Lord.
Finally don’t bother praying against me, I can say like Paul, “For me to die is gain, to live is Christ”, but I cannot even go now, because I am yet to fully finish the task set before me. Don’t waste your time using misguided scriptural interpretation. This I write is true, and I am sorry if you don’t like it. Your Pastor, and every other wolf whose conscience is not seared knows it is the complete true.
God bless you.
God bless His Church.
God bless Nigeria

MORE SCANDALOUS ALLEGATIONS AS WE AWAIT OUR god OF MEN AND HIS COZA TO COME WITH THEIR ROBUST RESPONSES : New Illicit Activities Of Pastor Fatoyinbo Of COZA Church Abuja Exposed ... OLUFAMOUS.
Darts are now being thrown at the door step of embattled Pastor of Commonwealth of Zion Assemblies (COZA) Abuja, Biodun Fatoyinbo from all angles.
Just like the African proverbs that when a big tree falls, all sorts of ants tends to climb it, some other unverifiable allegations continues to surface on a daily basis on the allegations of sexual misconduct against him.
Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo and his Church are not helping matters themselves. Just as the saying goes, silence is golden and may be an evidence of guilt.
Anyway lets serve you another angle from another source (the 3rd in the series),who alleged and collaborated the earlier allegations by two previous members of his Church.
The difference this time is from a 3rd party individual who accused the Pastor of sexually harassing his girl friend.
Here is his story that has also gone virile on social media.
CKN Nigeria is not the original source of the story though.
Two days ago at 9:14pm, a commenter on Ese Walter’s blog going by the name ‘Okene Boy’ made further allegations against the embattled pastor. The accusations centered around his girlfriend being an ‘almost victim’ of the pastor’s alleged sexcapade.
The accuser, who claimed to have been a worker in church himself, also said the pastor requested ‘oral sex’ from a mutual friend and fellow church worker. He further claimed the antics of the pastor broke up a marriage whilst the church was in its early days in Ilorin. He said the cause of the marriage break up was due to the pastor having an amorous affair with another man’s wife.
The allegations, which cannot be verified as the accuser has cloaked his identity, also went further to name other Pastors of COZA to be involved in such acts. Whilst none of this is verifiable, public opinion is mounted strongly against COZA as the church has not made any efforts to deny any of the allegations, despite being aware of their existence

“I Just want to share a bit of my experience in COZA cos I only laugh when hear people call God in this matter. I use to be a member of COZA, a worker to say the least. These things have been on since I was in the University of Ilorin and attending COZA, my then girlfriend was almost a victim. A housemate of mine called Funmi was a victim of the brainwashing tactics of pastor Biodun, from her I first heard the term ‘Blow Job’…..yes!! with my then Pastor B. My girlfriend stopped going for counseling cos she could no longer stay in a lonely office with pastor Biodun. We have all stopped attending COZA long before now. The unfortunate thing is that pastor Biodun is a pervert, sorry to say, but its the truth (its always bitter). I am now happy that this young lady developed good courage to open up and worn many potential victims. He has the word no doubt but….he is still very much human: worse than an average man on the street. If you know you are good looking…. RUN!!! Pastor biodun was alleged to be sleeping with the wife of a church member then in Ilorin and the man almost had fight with him but somehow that affair with his wife ended their marriage. COZA lost many members then though the adultery continued. His wife can no longer be ashamed of these issues cos, I’m guessing, she’s gotten used to being embarrassed by her so called man-of God. This is very unfortunate cos he is a pastor I love so much. I’ve kept track of events since I left with some of my friends still loyal to the church and discovered that Pastor Flo does the same in Lagos and even my beloved Pastor Wole in Ilorin at the moment. I have decided to put God aside and wonder: What is it with Big-time so called Men-of-God and sex? Does it give them some kind of powers or what…
Pastor B made me spiritually but he also broke me. So many issues about the death of a member of my then department in the church…how much can I write”

WHERE IS MANKIND HEADED? SIGNS OF THE TIMES : Wedding dream for bride born a boy and groom born a girl ... The “body swap” pair are planning to marry in March 2015, when they hope to have completed their gender reassignment surgery ... TheMirrorUK
As a child, Jamie Eagle couldn’t wait to walk down the aisle as a beautiful bride, picturing the princess dress, the bridesmaids and flowers.
It is not an unusual dream for a girl, but Jamie was a boy, and desperate not to be.
Not only are her wishes coming true but in a remarkable twist, groom Louis Davies was also born in the wrong body – as a girl.
Now the “body swap” pair are planning the perfect wedding in March 2015, when they both hope to have completed their gender reassignment surgery.
“Ever since I was five I dreamed of being a bride, getting dolled up and feeling glamorous,” says Jamie, 20.
“I went to my sister’s wedding a couple of years ago and I was so happy for her, but it was so difficult knowing I might never have that for myself.
"Now I know I’m going to have that perfect day to remember.”
Louis, 25, says: “I love Jamie so much. I was so nervous proposing. I spent two hours choosing the perfect engagement ring.
"I planned to propose at our favourite restaurant but I panicked and went down on one knee in our kitchen.
“ I just felt so incredibly happy when she said yes. It’s the happiest I’ve ever felt. I can’t wait to see her walk down the aisle.”
Happiness is long overdue for the pair from Bridgend, South Wales, who both struggled with their identities from childhood.
But after meeting 10 months ago, they are now both taking hormones and on the waiting list for surgery.
They even hope to adopt and start a family together.
Jamie, who has kept her original name, was just three when she first felt trapped in the wrong body.
“I wanted Barbie dolls, not trucks for Christmas.
"Mum didn’t mind but I remember my dad taking one of my dolls away as he thought it was strange,” explains Jamie.
At five she began trying on her sister’s clothes.
“I put on a school skirt one day when she was out. I knew it wasn’t normal but it felt right,” she says.
“At school I didn’t fit in with the girls or boys.
“At 12 I fancied straight boys but I had a soft, girly voice and everyone assumed I was gay so I was called names.
"I knew I wasn’t gay but didn’t know what was different about me. My body made me really uncomfortable.”
Aged 14, Jamie shaved her legs and secretly used her mum’s make-up.
She says: “I tried on my mum’s shoes and bras and used her perfume. I idolised women.”
It was only when she researched her feelings online that Jamie says she realised she was transgender.
“It was a relief to know I wasn’t alone but I was too scared of people’s reactions to come out,” she says.
But at 16, Jamie felt desperate. She says: “My genitals made me feel sick. I wanted to cut them off.”
Finally, one night she opened up to one of her sisters. “I burst into tears and blurted ‘I want to be a girl’.
She hugged me and said she’d always known I was different. My sister told my mum and she said she loved me no matter what.”
With her family’s support, Jamie began wearing dresses and hair extensions.
In May 2010, Jamie was diagnosed as transgender. But despite feeling happier, she feared she would never find anyone to accept her for who she was.
But that changed when she met Louis last October as she gave a speech about transgenderism at his university in Glamorgan.
He knew only too well how she felt.
“I’d always known I was in the wrong body from the age of four,” says Louis.
“I struggled to fit in with other kids. When I was 17 and studying psychology I discovered the term transgender.
“It was a relief to know I could get help but I didn’t have the courage to tell my family until I was 21.”
It was at that time Louis decided to change his name and live as a man.
“My mum found it hard, she felt like she was losing a daughter. After a while she accepted she was gaining a son.”
The pair say it was love at first sight when they met and they quickly went on a first date to the cinema.
Louis recalls: “I was struck by Jamie’s eyes and smile. I’ve always liked girls – when I was a teenager I once tried sex with a boy but it just didn’t feel right. Thankfully Jamie agreed to meet me.”
Jamie says: “We chatted all the way through the film.
"Louis was shaking with nerves as he told me about his past, so I made the first move, and kissed him to calm him down. It was a great kiss.”
From that point they became inseparable and moved in together in February.
As they wait for their respective operations the pair are taking hormones.
For Jamie they helped soften her body and facial hair, create breasts and shrink her genitalia. For Louis they had the opposite effect.
“They’ve deepened my voice, developed muscle and boosted hair growth. Finally my body is beginning to match my mind,” he explains.
And in March he popped the question. “Louis came home acting strangely one night and asked me to hang up his coat – something he never does,” says Jamie.
“I thought it was weird. When I came back to the kitchen he was down on one knee with a beautiful diamond ring.
"I had tears in my eyes. I had no idea he was going to do it."
Once their gender reassignment is legally recognised they are free to marry each other.
But for now they are simply enjoying being a couple.Jamie adds: “We love snuggling up and watching horror movies.
"We have so much in common. We don’t have traditional roles, Louis will do the cooking.”
But they also have typical differences.
“Louis is a computer game and gym fanatic and hates shopping, I could trawl the shops all day, like most girls,” laughs Jamie.
“Louis is such a boy – getting emotion out of him is almost impossible!”
But Jamie explains they are both each other’s best support.
“When I’m insecure about my looks he kisses me and says I’m beautiful,” says transgender campaigner Jamie.
“Sometimes strangers yell ‘tranny’ at me – but when I’m with Louis no one says anything.”
Business management student Louis, adds: “Some friends have called me ‘strange’.
"Jamie is the only person who truly understands me. But thankfully our families are supportive and happy about our wedding.”
Louis now believes he is close to having his first round of surgery – to remove his breasts.
But Jamie is at least 12 months away from starting her transition. The pair are waiting until after then to begin a physical relationship.

SOMETHING ABOUT BAYELSA MAKES THE STATE SO SWINDLEABLE ... WHAT COULD IT BE? : Fake CNN Reporter Swindles Bayelsa Government, Officials ... SaharaReporters
Paul Yempe
By SaharaReporters, New York
Investigations by SaharaReporters revealed that Allison Okuro, the secretary to the Bayelsa government, as well as Martins Fefegha, the state's commissioner of Information, were among the victims who lost money in the fraudulent deal that was recently exposed.
A source said the fake reporter had moved round several government ministries, departments and agencies collecting bribes before his luck ran out.
Our reporter learned that Mr. Okuro, a professor, had offered hotel accommodation to the imposter and had written a memo seeking the release of funds for a phony documentary promised by the fake reporter in addition to advance cash payments to Mr. Yempe.
Contacted to react on his involvement, the Commissioner for Information declined to state the amount of money he had advanced to the fake journalist. He however admitted that there were plans to lodge money into the reporter’s account before the deceptive deal came to limelight.
Mr. Yempe was taken into custody when he approached the Bayelsa State Commissioner for Energy to solicit funds for an interview for a supposed documentary to be aired on CNN.
Police spokesman Alex Akhigbe confirmed the arrest, but said the case was still being investigated. He declined to mention the number of officials fleeced of cash by the fake reporter or to reveal the amount involved.
A reporter in Bayelsa told SaharaReporters that Mr. Yempe is a senior staff of Radio Rivers in Port Harcourt.
CNN could not immediately confirm if it has any connection with the suspected fake reporter.
AS WE AWAIT THE RANDY PASTOR FATOYINBO AND HIS COZA'S ROBUST RESPONSE, ESE WALTERS TAKES A FINAL STAND AND MAKES LAST STATEMENT ON THE SEX SCANDAL : GOING FORWARD ... By Ese Walter ... A COURAGEOUS STATEMENT FROM A FREE CONSCIENCE. Well done young woman.
About six months ago, I was watching a lot of Apple ads on YouTube and heard something that has never left me. You should watch the YouTube video, it’s truly inspiring. Here’s what I heard:
“Here’s to the crazy ones, the misfits, the rebels, the troublemakers, the round pegs in square holes, the ones who see things differently, they are not fond of rules and have no respect for the status quo.
You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them but the only
thing you can’t do, is ignore them because they change things.
They push the human race forward and while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius because the people, who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do.”

The past week has ‘killed’ me. It has stripped me of whatever ‘self-importance’ I nursed in the corners of my mind. It has broken me and opened me up to my real self. It has brought me to a deeper level of self-awareness, one I am most grateful for.
When I sat with my MacBook to type my last blog, I never imagined it would generate the kind of attention it did and continues to. I have one last thing to say on this issue
before I lay it to rest and move on. (I also hope others can move on too, we
have too much going on in this Country to continue to peddle one for longer
than necessary.)
A very big thank you to everyone that has felt it necessary to talk about this issue and spread it throughout Nigeria and the foreign scene. I read every email sent to me with awe that people would take the time out to reach a total stranger like me. Some were cursing, calling me a witch from the pit of hell sent to destroy the church as though one individual/church is bigger than the body of Christ. As though God is mere man and would cringe in heaven saying, “Ese don did it this time.” Or as if
the good Book didn’t state clearly that ALL things work out for good for those
that love God.
Do you love God? If yes, trust that it will ALL turn around for good.
Some people say, ‘I support you, you are brave and courageous’ and I wonder if those terms really define me. I do not think I am brave or courageous. I do know, however that after decades of sleepwalking through life, I am now becoming aware not just of myself but also of my environment, my world, and the universe.
Some say, put out the evidence and we will believe you. Hmmm, the morning I sat to write that post, I really didn’t expect anyone to believe me. Well, apart from those involved. And my motive was simple, let one more woman be spared. Let one more minister of the gospel be mindful and let the church rise up to its responsibilities as God’s legal representatives here in the earth realm.
A copy of the ‘evidence’ is with a respected minister of the gospel should the christian body decide to deal with this issue now and that becomes needful. I am not looking to have a ‘me against them’ case where I need to prove I’m right and someone is wrong. I am far from right, but I have used the only means available to me to free myself of the bondage I put myself in.
Lastly, to all the media people seeking interviews and whatever else mailing me, I have nothing more to say on this issue. I cannot reply every email as reading them is beginning to seem like a new job.
I remember asking a friend once while reading the book of Acts, “Why do we no longer operate in the power the disciples did in Jesus day?” What has changed? How do we ‘unchange’ it?
God is not mocked, if we serve Him, let’s serve Him. We cannot continue to grow as a Nation by oppressing, delaying justice, hating, having the ME ME ME mentality. As Martin Luther King Jr said, ‘no one is free until we are all free.’
Things have got to change and it begins with us. It begins with each and every one of us borrowing courage to stand for what we believe in. Fela Durotoye once said, ‘that thing that annoys you most in society is a sign that you carry its solution.’ (I’m
paraphrasing)
Nothing has called out to me more than people, especially women, suffering in some way and hiding the pain. Whatever we cover doesn’t go away. It grows and it finds different outlets to rear its ugly head until we deal with it.
I am not perfect, I will never be, but I am enough to try what I feel might work. I don’t know what the entire bible says but I am learning and applying the little I find out
daily. And I think everyone owes it to himself or herself to figure it out for
themselves.
At the end of the day, we agree that ‘men of God’ are firstly men, right? This means it’s needless expecting them to help you in your growth with God. I fell into that trap of thinking a ‘man of God’ is equated to God and it is not new to find people fall in that hole.
How do you begin to learn to serve a God you have never seen? It takes another level of faith to do that but we live in a generation/Country where people don’t want to study for themselves. They don’t want to read the Scriptures. Well, they don’t want to read, period. They want to pursue things instead and have somebody do the praying and studying for them. If you fall in that category, you need to repent.
I learnt that when the veil was torn, we all were given equal access to the Father. No matter how long you may have been in church, if you don’t know what that means you better ask somebody. And seek a real relationship with the God you claim to serve.
That is what I am spending most of my time doing these days. Praying, studying, seeking, knocking. The peace I have felt despite all the hate mails and tantrums shows that God is not angry with me and I did what I needed to do to the best of my
understanding.
My apologies to everyone this has affected in one way or another.
Firstly, my family: I don’t know how you guys aren’t sick of me yet
Secondly, ‘the body of Christ,’ my intention was never to cause trouble but to stop a rot I felt might spread and become worse if nobody spoke up about it.
Lastly, to those who said I shouldn’t blog again, I respect and understand your concerns but the truth is, writing is not just my gift, it is also my ‘curse’. I cannot ‘NOT’ write but I PROMISE, this is the last I will say on this issue except the christian body needs to see me.
God is building His church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. No sin is too big to wreck anyone’s faith. If it does, then it means it’s working out a greater good for you. You will definitely come out stronger and better in the end. Like my best friend says “in the end, it will be all right and if it ain’t alright, it’s not
the end.”
“…forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.” Paul.
Cheers to the weekend people

TARABA STATE IN FOCUS ... WINDING DOWN THE DRAMA ... DISAPPEARING ACTS STAGE : Uncertainty Over Suntai’s Whereabouts
In spite of the unfolding controversy over the propriety of the medical fitness of Taraba State Governor, Danbaba Suntai, to govern the state and the political impasse on who is actually ruling the state, uncertainty is now trailing the whereabouts of the ailing governor.
A well informed source who sought anonymity because of the sensitive nature of the matter, confided to a national newspaper last night that the governor might have been taken to an unknown destination for urgent medical treatment.
He added that four Hilux buses drove to the airport at about 5p.m yesterday and after some couple of minutes, the private plane that brought the governor to Jalingo on Sunday suddenly took off”.
According to the source, ‘‘the governor is too ill to even recognise his aides, but a group who feel that permutations for who becomes the governor of the state in 2015 will not favour them realised that with the governor away on treatment for so long, they would lose out. “So, they moved to bring him back. And you can see from the media reports and the different photographs during his return on Sunday that the governor is not in a right frame of mind to do anything. Don’t forget that the governor did not say a single word during that day.
“But when seven members of the House of Assembly met him yesterday, they were shocked on the grounds that he could not recognise any of the lawmakers”.
But another source who gave his name as Joshua Tanimu confessed that the governor is receiving urgent medical attention, claiming that Suntai is currently at the intensive care within the Government House. He said, “I can confirm to you that Suntai is in Jalingo, but he is in a critical situation, so he is in intensive care. He is closely monitored by doctors”.
It was further gathered from another source at about the time of going to press yesterday that Suntai was sighted in one of the highbrow areas in Abuja for undisclosed reasons.

A LOVER FROM THE PITS OF HELL : VIOLENCE: Woman Battered For Cautioning Lover Against Smoking Indian Hemp (GRAPHIC PHOTO)
Temitope Oladejo,26, never envisaged that the once blossoming romance between her and her lover, Ahmed Babalola, would go sour, judging by the endearing manner at which Babalola pampered her from the onset.
But today, she is looking a shadow of her old self ,following several scars on her body allegedly inflicted on her by Babalola.
Trouble according to her, started after she discovered that her lover was smoking Indian hemp. Out of concern ,she reportedly accosted him, only to be given the beaten of her life.
In this interview with Crime Guard, she barely managed to speak. She had blood- stained eyes and swollen face, no thanks to another round of beaten she received from her live-in-lover Babalola.
Narrating what she described as her greatest undoing , she said:“he came back home recently and I found a wrap of Indian hemp on him. I knew he smokes but never knew he was into Indian hemp. I pleaded with him to quit but he kept quiet.
Next day, I told him I was going to visit my mum that was ill. He also said he was going out but that he was not having any money on him. I told him I had N300 which I opted to share with him .
But when I went to take my bath, he searched my bag and found N2000. He asked where I got the money from and I told him it was not mine. At that point, he started ranting, looking for an avenue for another round of beating.
I reminded him that I was not owing him because he usually goes out and comes in without caring to drop money for our little daughter’s upkeep. Before I knew it, he gave a hot slap on my face and started beating me. When I attempted to shout to alert neighbours, he picked a towel and gagged me. I managed to escape . But by then, he had inflicted injuries all over my face”
Asked why she had not bothered to report to her family or that of Babalola, she disclosed that they were not legally married. Also asked why she did not deem it fit to report the matter to the police, she winked, saying, “ I have on several occasions reported the incessant battering to the police. But each time, they would ask me to go home and resolve the issue with him.
He beats me at the slightest provocation, particularly when I cautioned him against smoking Indian hemp. My worry was not only his smoking attitude but the fact that each time, he comes asking me to give him money and when I refused, he would beat me up.
As if that was not enough, he threatened to beat up my mother when I ran to her place for treatment. He told her to leave us alone that she had no right over his relationship with me”.
NGO to her rescue
Determined to put a stop to the beating, she said she was refereed to the Rights and Empowerment Advocacy Initiative, from where the case was charged to court.
In a letter to the President/Executive Director of Citizens Rights and Empowerment Advocacy Initiative,CREMA Comrade Rex Kennedy Saltlove, titled “Assistance to Intervene on Assault Case and Petition to Stop the Intimidation of My Mum and I by Mr Ahmed Babalola, Oladejo appealed for immediate steps to be taken before Babalola snuffed life out of her and her mum.
The case, has been charged to Magistrate’s Court 8,with the next hearing coming up on September 7, 2013.But relatives according to her, were trying to pacify her to settle the case out of court.
There is however, a new twist to the whole saga as Oladejo said she received a phone call few days ago, where the caller who identified himself as a policeman, requested to see her and her mum at Area ‘M’ Command, Idimu, that there was a petition of threat to life against them by Babalola.

AS COZA'S PASTOR BIODUN AND HIS SEXUAL ESCAPADES TAKE THE BACK SEAT, AS WE AWAIT HIS ROBUST RESPONSE : WHAT DO WE DO WITH THESE SINNING GENERAL OVERSEERS: A post by Pastor Dele Johnson ... A MUST READ FOR ALL WHO SEEK AFTER TRUTH
WHAT DO WE DO WITH THESE SINNING GENERAL OVERSEERS:
HELP THEM TO GET UP AGAIN - A post by Pastor Dele Johnson
The process of helping a fallen soldier of the cross is through discipline and spiritual retreat.
...
During the process of such spiritual retreat and discipline. The ministry should be left in the care of trusted church fathers or mentors in faith who have proven records of character and integrity. Surprisingly most of these church leaders who derail and fall into sexual sins do not have spiritual fathers!
The duty of the spiritual fathers and mentor is to supervise the spiritual retreat, ensure the spiritual welfare of the congregation and also supervise the restoration of the Pastor back to faith.
Sexual sins by church leaders must not be covered up in anyway. This is not scriptural at all. I believe this is God’s wisdom to deter men and women from sin and of course raise the standard of holiness. We must not cover up this sin with silence or with much activities. You must not attempt to cover up sexual sins by painting the victim as bad or demonic in order to exonerate yourself in the eye of the public.
I am convinced that only a person with Christian integrity, who has heaven in view will follow this bible order for restoration of a leader who fell into sexual sin. The easiest and cheaper way is to cover-up, but this is a damning way!
It is very crucial that followers or members of churches are not brainwashed. Where a leader is an unrepentant sexual offender, you must consider your spiritual future first. Eternity must be your focus. You only follow the man that is following Christ. Don’t sacrifice your eternity upon the altar of money, position or power. Sinning leaders will only breed sinning followers. They are all Hell bound.
Hear this, no man carries the grace to sin! When you sin regardless of your achievement, fame or perceived success you will sink and stink. It is a question of time. Your sin will catch up with you. You cannot continue to sin and expect the grace of God to abound – God forbid it!
I am very sorry for those members of churches where their leaders are impenitent sex offenders and yet they justify the sins. You will blame yourself if you don’t wake up from your slumber. No man died for your sin. Only Jesus is the author and finisher of your faith. No man, No bishop, No Apostle, No reverend, No man but Jesus who hung on the cross to redeem you of your sin. Don’t be a partaker of another man’s sin.
Beware of those “Do as I say not as I do leaders” All Christian leaders are accountable to their congregation to live a Holy life.
Another feeble excuse is that, these man have a blood running in their veins, they are human. Some even play the devil’s advocate they quote Jesus “He who is without blame, throw the first stone”. Now this statement does not seek to justify the sin or the sinner in anyway, but rather it was addressing another issue of hypocrisy. You cannot be a judge over a matter that you are also a culprit. The point is, go and also deal with your own sin, don’t cover it up with the distraction of another person’s sin, all sinners must deal with the sin problem. Finito.
Some people as expected have asked, why are the fathers of faith not making clear statements to condemn these recklessness of sin on the pulpit?
They ask, is it because they think the matter is non of their business or that they feel that they are not qualified to judge these cases? My take is this. Fathers of faith and everyone who love Jesus have a responsibility as custodian of the doctrines of the kingdom of God to defend the sanctity of the gospel. I believe strongly that we shall all stand before God on his judgement seat to account for our silence on this issue.
I am convinced that these are the grand designs of Jezebel to pollute the body of Christ by lowering the standard of Holiness and glorifying sin.
If you think you stand, take heed lest you fall, this is the wisdom of God for all of us who have eternity in view. You take heed when you deliberately account to those who are ahead of you in the race and are living right. You take heed when you call sin by its real name and you flee from it, you take heed when you are never alone with the opposite sex.
My close observation is that most of these leaders who fall on the laps of Delilah are loners, they don’t have true friends in the body of Christ. The people they sometimes refer to as friend a merely the people they rub shoulders with, of course they don’t confide in them. They cannot tell each other the truth.
In conclusion it is the truth that sets free. Falsehood, and all the charade, and stage acting to cover up cannot submerge the truth. Remember there is only one end for the unrepentant sinner. "Death in all its ramifications".
Maranatha.

OF MEN WHO 'KISS AND TELL' AND WOMEN WHO BRING THEM BACK TO THEIR SENSES ... GHOSTS OF FASHOLA'S IGBO DEPORTATION SAGA : I Never Had any Relationship With Fani Kayode Says Bianca....Threatens to Sue! .... HEAR FEMI FANI KAYODE'S RESPONSE
Fani-Kayode had in his article, entitled: “Neither a tribalist nor a hater,” published in the social media and some segments of the national dailies, claimed to have met with Bianca when she was Miss Bianca Onoh at the Cambridge College and had “intimate” relationship with her together with two other Igbo ladies.
Reacting to this, Bianca said she had never met Fani-Kayode before, either at official or private level, not to talk of having an “intimate” relationship with him.
The ambassador, who spoke through her lawyers, Wall Street Attorneys, has, therefore, threatened to drag the former aide to ex-president Olusegun Obasanjo to court if, in the next seven days, he fails to retract his libelous publication against her.
In the letter from her lawyers to Fani-Kayode, dated August 27, 2013 and signed by Mike Ugwuanyi, Esq, Mrs. Ojukwu demanded that the former minister writes an apology and retraction of the said libelous publication in The Sun and Thisday newspapers, as well as publish it in the online publication, where it emanated, in the next seven days or face litigation.
The letter written by Mrs. Ojukwu’s lawyers and obtained by The Sun read in part: “We have been briefed and our services retained by Ambassador Bianca Ojukwu, Nigeria’s Ambassador to Spain to demand from you an unreserved apology and a retraction of a false and malicious statement, which you published online and also caused to be published in the Leadership Newspaper of August 16, 2013.
“In the said article entitled, ‘Neither a Tribalist nor a Hater,’ you recklessly alleged, as follows: ‘I was not a tribalist when I had a long standing and intimate relationship with Miss Bianca Onoh…’, a statement, which you know is untrue and unfounded, but only calculated to lower our client’s esteem and damage her national and international reputation.
“Our client has never met you, does not know you in person and has never had any official or private relationship with you how much more ‘a long-standing and intimate relationship.’
“Our client is therefore, outraged by your bizarre and scandalous allegation and the numerous mails and telephone calls she has received from friends, relations and admirers who are equally embarrassed and who seek to confirm the veracity or otherwise of your false and reckless publication.
“Your apparent lame and half-hearted attempt, as published in the Leadership Newspaper of 17th August 2013, to clarify your false and malicious allegation falls far short of a retraction and does not sufficiently address the damage to our client arising from the widespread dissemination of your false publication and is therefore unacceptable to our client.
“In the circumstances, we demand, on the instruction of our client that you submit to her a clear and unqualified apology and retraction published in The Sun and Thisday newspapers in addition to having the retraction published online.
“Take note that should you fail to tender the apology and publish a retraction of your false and malicious publication, seven days next after your receipt of this demand notice, our further instructions are to seek appropriate redress in court. And that shall be without further recourse to you. Be properly guided.”
Hear him!
''This morning I woke up to find a letter that was published as an advertorial in Thisday Newspaper purportedly by Ambassador Bianca Ojukwu's lawyer threatening to sue me for mentioning her in my article and claiming that she has never met me before. She also said that I was being malicious. The matter has of course been reffered to my lawyers....
Ordinarily I would have not have said a word about this because I sympathise with her for whatever she may have been going through.
However now that she has put it in the public realm I am compelled to respond. To the assertion that I never knew her and that we were never friends I say this is false and I ask why would I lie? The public evidence is to the contrary. I would not want to say anything to embarass her because that would be ungentlemanly.
I sympathise with her situation and once again I express regrets about the fact that my statement about her was misconstrued. I will just leave it at that.''

THE TARABA DEBACLE ... GAME CHANGER : Gov. Suntai’s Wife Begs Legislators Not to Impeach Her Husband
Taraba State political crisis has entered another phase with Hajia Hauwa, the wife of Governor Danbaba Suntai, called on members of the State House of Assembly not to impeach her ailing husband.
This development followed the commencement of signatures collecting by the legislators for the impeachment of the governor, as the legislators understood Mr. Danbaba is not fit enough to resume duty, despite being treated in hospitals for about 10 months.
The legislators began the impeachment move on August 28, 2013, after the governor announced the dissolution of the state cabinet through his Senior Special Assistant on Media, Sylvanus Giwa.
According to sources, earlier today Hauwa got wind of the impeachment move and quickly arranged for the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Haruna Tsokwa, and a few other legislators to visit the governor.
It should also be noted that Hauwa did not allow the Speaker or the Acting Governor, Garba Umar, to have audience with Governor Suntai since he was brought back to Nigeria on August 25, 2013, Sunday.
However, Hauwa’s intervention has small chances to succeed, as, reportedly, most of the legislators have already signed the impeachment notice.
What really angered the legislators was the allegedly stage-managed video of Suntai’s purported broadcast to the people of the state.
Taraba residents were also annoyed, said there was nothing like a live broadcast by the ailing governor as reported by a section of the media, adding that it was a stage-managed recorded tape that the state owned television station broadcast on August 28, 2013.
According to sources, the swearing in of the new Secretary to the State Government, SSG, Timothy Kataps, was also stage-managed as none of the documents pertaining to his swearing in was signed by the Commissioner for Oaths.

FROM FRYING PAN INTO FIRE : ACTRESS LOLA ALAO'S NEW HUBBY IS A FRAUDSTER ...Convicted In Kuwait for Credit Card Scam ... E247 Magazine
A fortnight ago when star actress, Lola Alao, got married in far- flung Atlanta, United States of America, USA, to AdewaleYakubuAdewaleAjibola, the couple, literally, could not contain their excitement, writes BIODUN KUPOLUYI. Lola was positively glowing in her creamy wedding dress while Yakubu sporting a bespoke grey suit, wore a disarming smile. Though not an opulent wedding, they exchanged marital vows, flaunted the marriage certificate and the pictures that went viral online generated mixed reactions. There are fears too, solemn fears: Lola's new hubby is plagued with an ugly past - a credit card scam that kept him 'inside' in a Kuwaiti cell. According to an insider, this isn't the first time the 'Nigerian big boy' has been on the wrong side of the law. His claim to relevance and easy bait for unsuspecting women who wanted love and affection, has been his American citizenship’s status and his dashing looks, a reference to what in Yoruba parlance is called Faworaja, (meaning a person who lives off his looks). When he was arrested in Kuwait for the credit card scam, Yakubu, was able to answer the police questions adroitly, but the authorities were not convinced of his claim that he was innocent. A ring of 'scammers' had some months before his arrival, operated in the same manner and went away with their loot in the Middle East commercial city. Unsuspectingly, Yakubu walked into a booby trap. While Wale YakubuAjibola, the Nigerian-born American citizen served terms for one year, the Big Sam turned the other cheek. Lola, who is hell-bent on getting a husband, was not too lucky last year when her hatched plot to marry another Nigerian based in Europe was thwarted by her first husband, Dare Ogunlana, who unleashed a media attack on her. Meanwhile, Lola found a close ally in another actress, Bukky Wright, also married to a US-based Nigerian, Wale Onitilo. Lola and Bukky seem to be best friends in real life because their chemistry comes through effortlessly. Since her marriage to US-based lover and car dealer, Dare Ogunlana, broke up, the Kogi-born actress has met a few men but she has not been quite lucky to have one of them put a ring on it. Bukky, we reliably gathered has been concerned and busy setting Lola up on dates with non-famous friends and some buddies of her current hubby. She wanted Lola to have her kind of relationship that will guarantee American citizenship status. When Yakubu walked in, it was a willing and desperate Lola he met and, trust her, she quickly hung on tight. Sources disclosed that while he was cooling his feet in the Kuwaiti authorities' cell, Lola scampered for his release by consulting marabouts widely. They were constantly in touch on phone and gradually they built the affection. On release some months ago, after serving terms in Kuwait for one year, she sent him a ticket to come home, made few appearances at functions that were private and they bonded before he returned to the United States to prepare for the August wedding. While Lola has taken the highroad by walking down the aisle with Yakubu, brimming with broad smiles that she has found love and a good match, observers of Nollywood marriages and the rate at which it dissolves, feel Lola may have finally found a big catch to perfect her plans for an American citizenship status. Yakubu, E24-7 MAGAZINE'S checks revealed, has never been married but he has three kids, including a set of twins from two women among his strings of ladies. From his profile, though he claimed to be an ICT expert, he is not quite buoyant financially and his recent incarceration in Kuwait has not helped. There is no record of an apartment in his name; the newly married couple are guests in one of the hubby's relations' house in Atlanta. Prior to his ill-fated venture in Kuwait, he is said to have been living off his relations in California before life threw terrible storms at him and he moved to Houston. In his bid to survive, he crossed to Atlanta where he allegedly joined the credit scam racket popularly known as 'Track 1, Track 2'. For Lola, it has been a tortuous and lonely journey with her 10-year- old daughter, Omowunmi from her first marriage with Dare. As she stepped out from the depths of despair to happily ever after, it is not clear if Dare will not sue her for bigamy as their marriage consummated in Nigeria has not been officially dissolved. Lola and Yakubu are expected in Nigeria soon.

THE TARABA DEBACLE ... TARABA STATE IN FOCUS PT 3: BREAKING NEWS .. Taraba lawmakers stop Gov. Suntai from resuming duties, ask him to return to hospital
The Taraba lawmakers met the governor Wednesday night.
The Speaker of Taraba State House of Assembly, Haruna Tsokwa, has announced that the lawmakers have decided to ask Governor Danbaba Suntai to go back to the United States to continue his treatment.
The lawmakers asked the governor to return to the U.S. to continue his rehabilitation programme and only come back to run his office when he is fully fit.
Mr. Tsokwa, who addressed journalists in Jalingo on Thursday morning, said the decision of members followed their visit to Mr. Suntai on Wednesday night.
He said the lawmakers were convinced Mr. Suntai was unfit to return to office.
The 24 members of the Assembly had on Wednesday evening visited the governor after resolving at their sitting earlier Wednesday to meet with Mr. Suntai to confirm his true state of health before taking any position on his letter stating his intention to resume office.
But the lawmakers declined comments after meeting with Mr. Suntai, saying they would only speak on Thursday.
The lawmakers did not confirm whether or not they were allowed to meet the governor.
Mr. Suntai, who appeared apparently ill during his arrival on Sunday, has made no public appearance or given an address since his arrival, fuelling speculation about the state of his mind and capacity to lead the state.
Critics have accused the governor’s family and associates of attempting to foist a critically ill governor on the state so they can usurp his powers.
“Whereas we sympathize with the Suntais and the entire people of Taraba State over this unfortunate incident and sincerely wish the ailing Governor full recovery, we however condemn unequivocally the attempt by some political vultures within and outside the State who are bent on holding a whole State to ransom and make effective governance once again unrealistic,” a network of civil society groups said on Tuesday.
“These charlatans have desperately kept trying to cling to political power and by extension the resources of Taraba State through series of craftily woven plots of deceits, meant to hoodwink the Nigeria public in a manner similar to the unfortunate Turai-Yar’adua saga.”
Events since Monday appeared to give strength to that concern as the critically ill governor issued an immediate notification to the House of Assembly signaling his preparedness to resume work.
Then, while lawmakers insisted he addressed them before approving his letter, the governor, on Wednesday, announced the dissolution of the cabinet and named a new secretary to the state government.
The governor named the outgoing commissioner for Justice, Timothy Kataps, as the news SSG, and Aminu Jika as the new Chief of Staff.
But the acting governor, Mr. Umar, dismissed the order as null and void, and laid claim to the office hours later.
The declaration heightened the political tension in the state that has endured months of uncertainty as both sides jostled for authority and sought to outplay the other long before Mr. Suntai returned to Nigeria.
A source close to the state Assembly said some members loyal to Mr. Umar had commenced scouting for signatures preparatory for the commencement of impeachment proceedings against the ailing governor.
The source indicated that the impeachment plan had already reached advanced stage with only two more signatures needed to get the required number of members necessary to actualize the plot.
The State Assembly itself had on Tuesday backed Mr. Umar to continue as acting governor until Mr. Suntai was able to appear before the lawmakers to confirm that he is indeed fit to function as governor as indicated in the letter he transmitted to the House.
