ANOTHER SECT? WHAT WONT WE SEE IN THIS COUNTRY : Another Islamıc Sect ‘KALO KATO’Emerges In Niger ... LeadershipNews
Barely four years after the Nıger State Government dıslodged an Islamıc sect Darrusalam from Bokanı ın the state, another Islamıc sect called ‘Kalo Kato’ are now ın Uregi-Kongoma and Kwana- Mariga of Rafi local government area of the state.
LEADERSHIP gathered that the members of the sect were mostly foreıgners from Nıger Republıc but were ınvıted by an Islamıc scholar ın Pandogaeı ın Rhe local government area.
It was gathered that the teachings of the sect ıs different from the conventional and establıshed Islamic teachıngs based on the Quran and Hadıth.
The members who sources saıd, came to the area few days before the Ramadan do not belıeve ın the Hadıth but only what ıs contaıned ın the holy Quran. In order not cause apprehension among the people, the secretary of Kalgara Emırate councıl Abdullahi Bala Kagara, told LEADERSHIP that last week the emırate ınvıted the leaders of the sect to a meetıng wıth the securıty agencies.
He saıd the emırate had sent learned Islamıc scholars and leaders to clarify issues with the sect members on their mode of preachıng ın order not to cause any breach of securıty.
Accordıng to hım, “We are monitoring them and we have also brought this to the notice of all the security agencies. We have identified the leader of the sect as Abdulkadir Suwaba who has been residing in Pandogeri area of the emirate for years”.
