OF CHARLATANS AND SYCOPHANTS ... YEYE DE SMELL : I’m Ready To Be Sacked As Minister Over My Battle With Amaechi ... Wike
A recalcitrant Minister of State for Education, Nyesom Wike, today declared in Port Harcourt that he is ready to be sacked as a Minister in the battle he has drawn with Governor Rotimi Amaechi of Rivers State. Obviously sensing he may not survive the imminent cabinet shake up by President Goodluck Jonathan, Wike said he’s ready to lose his job to clinch the governorship seat of the oil rich state in the 2015 elections.
Speaking at the inauguration of Obio/Akpor local government area chapter of his political group, Grassroots Development Initiative (GDI), Wike said: “Those who said that I should be removed, I have even over-stayed. To be a Minister for two years, you must thank your God. We were not Ministers when we fought for them in 2007. Nobody can give Mr. President condition.”
While condemning the recent fracas in the state House of Assembly that led to the injury sustained by Hon Michael Chinda, the embattled Minister said “They tried to kill our son. They will never go scot-free. Be calm, don’t take laws into your hands. Continue to pray for him.”
He urged the people of his council area to support PDP and President Jonathan in the 2015 elections, adding that “the President is our son. Jonathan is our in-law; his wife is our daughter. Go to all the wards talk to all the people to support our son.”
The state Chairman of the PDP, Felix Obuah, however softened down in his usual hard stance against Amaechi, saying that he would rather work towards bringing the governor and the minister together for reconciliation, adding that as a father of the party in the state, he would not allow his children to continue to fight endlessly.
