AND WHAT SHALL WE SAY TO THIS? : “Christians in public office starving CAN of funds”…..Oritsejafor .. JimiDisu's Blog

oritsejafor
The President of the Christian Association of Nigeria.,Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor last week  Tuesday at a thanksgiving service organised by the Delta State Government, held at Winners Chapel Warri, lamented that CHRISTIANS IN PUBLIC Office  had been starving CAN of funds unlike their Muslim counterparts who in his words were always ready and willing to promoting their religion. He is quoted from the DAILY INDEPENDENT  of 28 AUGUST  2013 as lamenting,”CAN does not have money.I spend from my pocket as CAN president. Some public office holders who are Christians do not promote their religion, whereas my friend from the other religion will only make a phone call and their people will respond, including some of you Christians”

Interesting! So our dear CAN president wants CAN to be funded from funds sourced from “those in public office.
QUESTIONS:
1.Are these public officers supposed to get these funds from public coffers,or from their meager salaries..or
2. Are they expected to steal these funds from the public till or “pay tithes from proceeds of theft, graft, misappropriation, mismanagement, misapplication etc(Authority Stealing)
3.Would the pastor be kind enough to explain why he singled out “PUBLIC OFFICERS” in his address
4.What are the activities of CAN that need funding?
5 What is CAN budget for the year
6.How is CAN funded
The insinuation of the pastors plea is not lost on us and I am sure he would not blame anyone if it is being interpreted as being that he wants public office holders to pass money to CAN,through him I would assume.Coming from the supposed leader of all Christians in Nigeria could it then be assumed that the church is encouraging corrupt practices. What do the other christian leaders think of this. The Anglicans ,The Methodists,Baptists ,(The Catholics are out!) his fellow Pentecostals?
Its a sad development that Christianity has finally come to this ,in our dear country, where our Pastors will be  insinuating that public officers get involved in unwholesome practice. It should get all of us covering our heads in shame and also set us thinking.
….and whilst we are at it,could we please ask our CAN President one more time ,who funded the plane he recently acquired plane that was acknowledged in the presence of Nigeria’s number one public officer
