TRAGEDY AVERTED .... FIRE OUTBREAK MANAGED : Fire Outbreak at Kano Int'l Airport Damage Turkish Airlines Plane

A fire incident was recorded on Tuesday night at the Aminu Kano International Airport, Kano, but was quickly curtailed by men of the Fire Service as well as some airport officials.
However, the inferno already left a fuel tanker completely burnt and also leaving an aircraft belonging to Turkish Airways partly damaged.
Passengers who were to travel to Istanbul, the Turkish capital, through the flight on Tuesday night, could not make the trip as the airline operators later cancelled the flight due to the unfortunate incident. This left most of the passengers dejected.
The tanker was reportedly supplying fuel to the Turkish Airlines aircraft, an Airbus 340, when it suddenly caught fire and went into flames. Officials of the airline quickly towed the airplane away, but the fire had already destroyed the aircraft’s wing.
Meanwhile, the cause of the fire could not be confirmed as at press time and no authorised airport official could also speak with us on the matter. However, an official, not permitted to speak, confirmed the incident to Aproko247. No human loss was reportedly recorded during the incident.
