GENERAL Overseer of The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor
Enoch Adeboye, has deplored the legal backing for same sex marriage in
some countries, describing it as evil, capable of wiping out human race
in 20 years of its practice.
This is even as he lauded the
National Assembly for legislating against same sex marriage in Nigeria,
adding that right thinking human being should kick against what he
termed “an evil and absurd practice.”
Speaking at the New Year
thanksgiving service organised by the Joint Christian Mission of the
Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), le-Ife, at the weekend, Adeboye, who
described same sex marriage as anathema to God’s will and instruction,
said “the will of God for human being is to be fruitful, replenish and
multiply on earth,” saying anything contrary to that was devilish.
“How
can a man who marries a fellow man produce a child? How can a woman who
marries a woman produce a child? If this evil is allowed to stay, there
will not be new born babies again in the world. As the older generation
dies, would there be new generation to succeed them? Even plants and
animals have new generation to succeed them,” he said.
The
cleric, therefore, implored those who indulged in the act, which he
described as sacrilegious, to repent and turn to God, stressing that
“like poles repel, unlike poles attract.”

there are many points of rebuttals here - the first being that even the way men and women are fruitful are not the way that God intended. It is implied in Genesis as God states to Eve that in sorrow she have give birth ( multiply ) we can safely assume that Gods intention was to do an operation like He did with Adam or something along those lines. So with that arguement it is possible that God could further develop the manner in which multiplication takes place or perhaps restore to the original plan that He had set before the fall in the Garden.
ReplyDeleteThe second thing is this- whilst it is true that God did outlaw homosexuality and lesbianism in the Old Testament ( Leviticus 18:22) are we still under the law? Nope we are under Grace and must take into consideration and thanksgiving what Grace did in Jesus Christ the last Adam. Galatians 3:13 tells us that He paid the price for breaking the law of the Old testerment this clearly includes homosexuality and lesbianism which was a law in the Old testerment and had conseuquences if you broke it. Under the Law they were killed under Grace He took away the punishment and LAW , for where there is no law there cannot be any transgression of breaking it. Many Christian Gays and lesbians do not see it as a sin nor it to be devilish but see it as the Completed Works of the Cross , the penalty of what was once a sin being paid by a Loving Lord , as it was neccesary.
