SO IT HAS COME TO THIS FOR US IN LAGOS STATE? : Obanikoro sues PDP over Lagos gov primaries ... Tribune News

Former Minister of State for Defence and governorship aspirant on platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Lagos State, Senator Musiliu Obanikoro, on Friday headed for a Federal High Court in Abuja to challenge alleged malpractices recorded during the governorship primaries held by the party in the state.
The former minister disclosed this while addressing his supporters at his Ikeja GRA  campaign office, even as he vowed to pursue justice using legal mean.
According to Obanikoro, who lost to Mr. Jimi Agbaje in the exercise conducted by a PDP panel headed by Senator Seidu Kumo, his decision to approach the court was to urge the party to expedite action on the petition he wrote to the national headquarter to cancel the result of the primaries and conduct fresh primaries in the state.
The governorship aspirant, who insisted that the primary election was manipulated in favoured of the declared winner, Agbaje, contended that, “The 48 hours timeline stipulated by the PDP electoral guideline to address our appeal has elapsed without a response from the party after submitting our petition on Tuesday.
“In the light of this development, we have proceeded to the Federal High Court, Abuja, to seek redress over the outcome of last Monday’s PDP primaries. I urge all our teeming supporters to remain steadfast. We will pursue this to a logical conclusion and justice will be done,” he said.
Obanikoro, while contending that his opponent’s camp was desperate, said, “There was an election on Monday, having seen the outcome of the senatorial election on that day, where they fielded candidates, we fielded candidates, we won all the seats, they became desperate. They have never won elections.”
