WE ARE WINNING THE WAR ON TERROR: JTF arrests another top Boko Haram commander Mohammed Zangina in Borno State

Barely a day after security forces arrested a suspected Boko Haram in Abuja, the Joint Military Task Force, (JTF) in Borno state, said yesterday that it operatives have conducted a special operation and arrested one Mohammed Zangina, who it described a high profile commander of the sect and member of its Shura committee, the apex decision-making body of the group.
Zangina is among the top commanders of the sect, which were declared wanted by the JTF on 23 November, last year with a bounty of N25 million placed on him.
The JTF Zangina in a statement issued by its spokesperson, Lt-Col. Sagir Musa, said Zangina, also known as Mallam Abdullahi but often referred to as Alhaji Musa, had coordinator most of the suicide attacks and bombings, carried out in several parts of the country comprising of the Federal  Capital Territory, (FCT) Abuja, Kaduna, Kano, Jos and Potiskum.
Musa said Zangina is the Boko Haram leader of North Central part of the country and was apprehended at about 12:30am in the Government Reserved Area (GRA) of Maiduguri,
“Zangina is a key member of the Shura Committee of the Boko Haram terrorists; he was in Maiduguri, to plan several deadly attacks on civilians and security personnel any moment from the day of the arrest. He survived several security manhunts on his hideouts in Abuja, Kaduna, Kano, Jos and Potiskum.
"The suspected top terrorists’ commander is currently undergoing interrogation”, the statement further declared.
Zangina’s arrest is coming a little over a month after another high profile commander, also on the wanted list, one Abdulkarim Ibrahim and two others were gunned down on December, 2, 2012, in a joint operation conducted by JTF operatives, personnel of the Department of State Security, (DSS) and the  police in Maiduguri metropolis.
On news filtered out that security forces arrested a suspected Boko Haram leader, Hassan Pagi Bukar in a house in Gwarimpa, Abuja belonging to a former member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Tijani Umara Kumalia.
The security guard of the unnamed lawmaker, who was in the House between 2003 and 2007, was also arrested.
The member was himself arrested, interrogated and later released but he has since become a regular face at the security agency handling the matter.
It was gathered that the suspect revealed that his duty with the sect was to dispossess members of the public of their cars, which were then used in executing suicide bomb attacks. Upon further interrogation, Bukar was said to have revealed that all cars used by the sect in their suicide bombing attacks were stolen, and that the ex-lawmaker also bought some of the stolen cars.
