Facts emerged that she breathed her last at exactly 3.00 am on
January 1, 2013 as BLB reported earlier. Some of her family members were
present by the side of her bed at the University College Hospital when
she passed away.
According to a family member of hers who chose to speak on condition
of anonymity, Bisi had been in and out of hospital for well over three
months for one illness or the other and that Bisi was the one who
demanded that she be brought down to Ibadan when her health conditions
were deteriorating.
The said sickness was said to have started three months ago when she
was rushed from Lagos to Ibadan for the first time by her friends and
family but was said to be fast responding to treatment added to which
fevered plans were also being made to raise money for her towards her
medical treatment until her condition worsened again three weeks ago.
At this point, Bisi was said to have been moved to a church from the
hospital, and back to the hospital again until she lost her pregnancy as
a result of miscarriage precipitated by the sickness. She was said to
have taken about 40 pints of blood before she finally died Tuesday
morning. According to BLB’s informer: “Her pregnancy was aborted at the
hospital. I don’t want to comment more on that, but that is the truth.
I learnt they had to do it to save her life when it appeared she might
lose it eventually.”
Yinka Quadri was sighted at Bisi’s family house yesterday and was
overheard telling sympathisers that Bisi phoned him to tell him about
her sickness few days to the Ileya festival, saying that he was still
shocked to hear that she had died. Listen to Quadri:
“I was informed few days to Ileya, but I didn’t hear from her again
until two weeks ago when her elder sister, Bukky, called my phone to
tell me that Bisi was terribly indisposed and that she needed some units
of blood to survive. I was in Ibadan last week Sunday to see her and
she was actually looking good on Wednesday when I came back to check her
again. We even joked as I left for Lagos that afternoon after spending
about 7hrs with her in the hospital. I was shocked when I received the
news of her death”.
BLB also gleaned that Bisi, who lost her mother over four years ago,
stayed with her aunt in Ibadan during the period of her sickness. Bisi’s
aunt, who was so crest-fallen yesterday, said she was yet to come to
terms with the fact that Bisi was dead and had been deposited at the
morgue. “I have lost a beautiful girl. I have lost a star that we are
all looking up to in the family. Everybody loved her because of her
simple lifestyle. She gave me a pink gown few days back that I should
wear it today (Tuesday), but I never knew she was telling me she was
going to die. I don’t believe she’s dead. I know she can still be raised
from the dead,” she hollered. Another sister of Bisi’s said that she
believed that Bisi was going to live because she had been told at the
churches she had visited to pray but that she was shocked and even more
pained that she died without any child.
Some of the nollywood actors and actresses who paid a condolence
visit to Bisi’s house on yesterday include, Yinka Quadri, Muyiwa
Ademola, Remi Surutu, Akeem Balogun ( Olasco Films), Adekola Tijani (
Kamilu Compo) Majester,Yomi Fabiyi and others. The actress was survived
by her father, grandmother and siblings. Bisi will be buried on Friday,
January 4, 2013.
So sad, but that is DEATH for you, a notoriously bad ‘manager’! Most
of the exits planned and ‘managed’ by death are always too soon! As we
all remember the lady, we cannot resist the temptation to bring to all
her numerous fans the last interview she granted HITZ in the video
below. They once asked Caesar the type of death he preferred to all
others. He simply told them: “One that is unexpected!” Bisi chose
Caesar’s way! Adieu, Bisi!
