A 58-year-old man from Agbura Community in Yenagoa local government area of Bayelsa State was on Thursday arrested by the police for allegedly impregnating his two daughters.

According to leadership, the
third daughter, a student of the Community Secondary School, Agbura,
reported the alleged repeated attempt by her father to have intercourse
with her during a school guidance and counseling session.
The victim’s class teacher reported the case to the ministry of women affairs which called the police to apprehend the man who has been detained at the Azikoro Police Station.
One of the daughters, who is 23 years old, was said to have conceived twice for the father, but the two children died mysteriously during child birth. The second daughter also got pregnant for the father and had to flee the community.
According to the Police, the man's 21-year-old son (names withheld) said in a statement that he started noticing the unholy acts of their father at the age of 12.
He said, “Our mother had reported the matter to the members of the family. On that day, our father nearly beat my mother to death. Each time the issue came up, my father would beat my mother.”
