WHEN WILL THIS HABIT OF STRIPPING PEOPLE NAKED STOP? : Angry Protesters Strip Royal Father Naked, Set His Palace Ablaze [VIDEO]

All hell was let loose on Monday April 15th in the Ado-Odo area of Ogun State as angry protesters set the palace of the traditional ruler, Oba Lateef Adeniran, on fire after attacking and stripping him naked. They also attacked his wives and children. What was the reason for their uncivilized action?
The violent mob said Oba Lateef Adeniran was imposed on them and they no longer want him as their head. This is sort of a jungle justice and should be condemned.
Thanks to the military guys who saved the ugly situation from getting worse.

The police have promised to deal with all the culprits.

Rioters on Monday stripped a traditional ruler in Ogun State, the Olofin of Ado Odo, naked and set his palace ablaze.
Lateef Akanni, a traditional ruler in Ado/Odo-Ota Town of Ogun State was a victim of scores of rioters in the town. Mr. Akanni’s wives and children also narrowly escaped being lynched by rampaging residents. Several vehicles were also burnt in the melee.
Residents of the town said the crisis stemmed from a power tussle for the title of the traditional ruler of the town.
The crisis followed a Supreme Court judgement said to be in favour of Mr. Akanni, believed to have been delivered in 2009. Though the cause of Monday’s protest is still sketchy, residents, apparently dissatisfied with the leader’s performance, attacked him on his way to Ilaro, a nearby town in Ogun State.
A resident said the protesters were angry because Mr. Akanni refused to go visit his challenger who earlier suffered from an auto accident.
The protesters forcefully stopped the monarch’s vehicle, dragged him out, beat him, and stripped him naked.
The badly bruised Mr. Akanni was receiving treatment at a hospital as at the time of this report.
Members of the monarch’s immediate family who also sustained minor injuries also received medical care, family sources said.
When contacted, the Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer, Muyiwa Adejobi, said that the police have restored order and peace to the town.
He, however, assured that all those involved in the attack on the monarch would be apprehended and brought to book.
“I know some people went to the palace and attacked the Oba of Ado-Odo but normalcy has been returned to the town. The Commissioner of Police has been there and we are going to ensure that the needful is done to bring all those involved in the act to book,” the police spokesman said.
In a related development, the Ogun State Government has appealed to the people of the community to shun violence and maintain peace.
The Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Muyiwa Oladipo, stated this during an assessment tour of the community to determine the level of damage done to the monarch’s palace.
“The government would not condone such acts of lawlessness. We would not hesitate to impose curfew on the town if the residents failed to maintain peace and order.
“The state government will immediately set up a panel of inquiry to look into the remote and immediate cause of the crisis that led to the beating of Olofin of Ado Odo, Oba Lateef Adeniran Akanni and the burning of his palace.
“The recommendations of the panel will be implemented in order to allow peace and tranquility to reign in the town,” the commissioner said.
