The leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kaduna State has concluded plans to present over one million decampees of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to former Military Head of State, Gen. Mohammadu Buhari and former Lagos State governor, Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The organising secretary of the APC and running mate to the gubernatorial candidate of defunct Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) in the 2011 elections, Barrister Joshua D. Ephraim told our correspondent that plans to officially receive the PDP decampees in the state have reached advanced stage.
He disclosed that the defected PDP members will be officially received later this month.
“APC has come to stay in Kaduna State; we will certainly take over power from PDP by 2015,” Ephraim said.
According to him, “By the time we officially receive the one million PDP decampees to APC, the PDP will be left with nothing other than inexperienced people in their camp.”
“We have many PDP members from Southern Kaduna, an area that has been predominantly PDP, willing to defect to our party as soon as we commence registration of members,” he said.
Barrister Ephraim accused the ruling PDP of working hard to instigate Nigerians against the APC. “We know the PDP has been going round with a fake information that APC is a Muslim party. This is coming from the pit of hell of the PDP, but they will fail in their new strategy to win elections.”
Also speaking to LEADERSHIP, a former chairman of the PDP in Kaduna State who recently defected to the APC alongside other principal leaders of the PDP also confirmed that over one million members of the PDP have already indicated interest to join him in APC.
“We are just waiting for a date this month to present the decampees to APC leaders in Kaduna. As a former chairman of the PDP, I will stop at nothing to see the failure of PDP by 2015 in the state,” he said.
